How to curl hair extensions

How to curl hair extensions

Babe’s extensions are made of 100% human hair, so curling irons and other heat tools are still going to work just as they do on your own hair.

If you’re using a curling or flat iron, the key is to use low heat settings and use a heat protectant spray. You should actually be doing this on your natural hair anyway to prevent damage and breakage.

For Fusion or Tape-In extensions, make sure not to get the heat tool too close to the bonds. The heat will soften the bonds and make them loose.

You can also get great curls without heat. This is ideal because heat products can damage and dry out extensions (just as they can to your own hair). It can also be a time-saver for busy mornings.

For Clip-Ins, wash and moisturize the extensions and then roll the hair into Velcro Hair Curlers. Let them dry overnight, and then unwind the extensions when they’re dry. Then place them in your hair as you normally would.

Curlers work for the permanent methods too. Roll them in your favorite foam curlers right along with your natural hair. Put your hair in curlers when it’s damp but almost dry, if it’s soaking wet, it probably won’t dry in time. (Remember, hair extensions take a bit longer to dry.) Take out your curlers in the morning, do any necessary touch-ups and re-curls, and you’re good to go!
