Hair Extensions Don’t Have To Be Expensive

Hair Extensions Don’t Have To Be Expensive

According to an April 2014 article in Modern Salon magazine, years ago, a full head of hair extensions could cost anywhere between $3,000 to $8,000. Now that they have become more popular, the price for high quality hair extensions has come down so you don’t have to spend a fortune to have gorgeous hair! Stylists usually charge per hour or per strand installed (in addition to the cost of the hair itself). Luckily, there are multiple options for you to make sure your extensions fit into your budget.

Because Tape-Ins are the fastest to install, the cost of installation will be less than the other methods. An installation for a full head can be as quick as 30 minutes. Tape-In hair extensions are the latest rave because of the high quality, natural, seamless finish you get once installed. They can be reused up to three times and will last 3 to 6 months with proper care upon each installation.

I-Tips are more expensive than Tape-Ins as far as installation goes because they are more time consuming. These extensions are installed strand by strand and are attached to your natural hair with tiny beads that are crimped to secure their hold. They can be installed in as little as two hours, but it can take longer depending on the thickness of your hair. These are clients’ favorite because they allow 360º movement and the beads are easy to hide. You can reuse them up to three times and they will last anywhere from 3 to 6 months after each application, if cared for properly. This method requires no heat, glue, bond, or chemicals.

Fusion tends to be more expensive than the other two methods. They too are installed strand by strand by connecting the extensions your natural hair with a keratin bond. The application time is about the same as the I-Tip method. Stylists have been using the fusion method longer than any other method because of the natural feel and the ultimate styling potential of not having to hide beads or tape.

For those on a tighter budget, Clip-Ins might be another option to look into. Because you can quickly put them in and remove them yourself, you save a good amount of money not having them professionally installed. These are a favorite of the commitment-shy who want some extra length for a special night or occasion. Clip-Ins can last anywhere from 6-12 months if cared for correctly.

As far as the cost of hair goes—the longer in length, the higher the price. Babe offers lengths that range from 14 inches to 22 inches in Tape-In, I-Tip, and Fusion. Prices for Clip-Ins are based on your choice of single clips or full head extensions.
