How To: Hide Hand-Tied Weft Strings

Hand-tied extensions are a great solution for every hair type, but having the proper technique is what will guarantee a happy stylist and a happy client! Making sure the strings are hidden will have a significant impact on the overall look of the extensions. We have compiled an easy-to-follow guide on hiding your weft strings to create a seamless and beautiful look!

Tip #1 Folding Your Weft

Once you prep the hair, it’s time to start sewing in the extensions. The first technique that we have found works great is cutting and folding. Simply start by cutting your strings to the optimal length. You want to be sure that you are not cutting them too short because this can cause them to unravel. Once you have cut your strings, fold the weft over at the ends so that the string ends closer to the middle of the head.

Tip #2  Using Weft Adhesive

The following technique that we have seen success with is using our Babe weft adhesive. Apply Babe weft adhesive to the top of the weft and layer the string on top. Gently apply pressure to secure the string in place. Using adhesive will give you a long-lasting bond that will keep strings hidden.

Tip #3 Stitching Strings

The final tip we have is a technique where you sew the string into the top of the weft. Using our Babe clips, make sure that the string is secured in the right position for sewing. Once you have done this, carefully sew the string into the top of the weft as you install.
